OUR PASTORAL FAMILY
”The Sandoval’s”
Pastor Mario Sandoval was a young youth leader in his twenties serving at his local church when God spoke to him and his wife Miriam that it was time to transition and begin a church. In November of 1991, Pastor Mario along with his wife and their two small daughters Kayla and Amanda, founded Maranatha Church in Waco, TX inside a home living room. He later founded their mens’ ministry, Mighty Men of Valor (VEV), which is a Ministry devoted to building up Men of One God, One Woman and One Purpose. Pastora Miriam founded a Women’s Ministry known as The Virtuous Woman (LMV), a Ministry devoted to establishing and edifying the values of being a Woman founded in the book of Proverbs 31. Pastors Mario and Miriam have extended their ministry of sharing the gospel through Maranatha Missions International (MMI), which has grown and they now oversee multiple churches in Mexico, Guatemala and Central America. Their daughters Kayla and Amanda Sandoval studied and obtained successful careers in the financial industry, and have now accepted the calling to also serve in the ministry alongside their parents now as Assistant Pastors. They both lead and oversee multiple departments within the church. As a family, The Sandoval’s believe in raising up priestly families for the Kingdom that serve the Lord together—that is why Maranatha is a place for you and all of your family. This is Maranatha Church’s Pastoral Family!
WHAT DO WE BELIEVE IN?
THE BIBLE
It is the Word of God, and although it was written by men, it was guided by the Holy Spirit. (Psalm 119: 11, Isaiah 40: 8, 2 Timothy 3: 15-17)
THE TRINITY
One God, manifested in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Although each one fulfills a different mission, they all possess the same power and authority.z
1. The Father
God is Omnipresent, He is Worthy, He is Holy. He is a loving and compassionate Father who gave His only Son to give us redemption of our sins. (Exodus 3:14, John 3:16, Acts 17:28)
2. The Son
Jesus is completely human but also completely God. He died, rose again on the third day and ascended to heaven by sitting at the right hand of God the Father. He overcame death through His resurrection. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1: 18-23, John 1: 1, Colossians 1:15)
3. The Holy Spirit
The presence of the Holy Spirit leads us to have an intimate communion with Jesus. He guides believers to all truth and convinces them of sin. He is our comforter and also gives us special gifts. (Psalm 51:11, Joel 2: 28-32, Isaiah 61: 1-3, Ephesians 1: 13-14)
THE MAN
Man was created in the image of God, but because of his sin he was separated from God. Each human being was created in a unique way. Only through the cross can repentance take place and forgiveness of sins be obtained. (Genesis 1: 26-30, Psalm 8: 3-6, Jeremiah 17: 5, 1 Corinthians 1: 21-31)
SALVATION
The only way to receive salvation is through the blood of Jesus. Salvation is a gift from God and it only happens when people have a heart ready to surrender at His feet. (Isaiah 1:18, Matthew 1: 21, Acts 2:21, Galatians 2:20)
THE CHURCH
The church is a community of believers who come together to learn more about the Word of God. It is committed to sharing the teachings of Christ and desires to take the gospel to the whole world. The church works in love and unity to glorify God. (Matthew 16: 18-19, Colossians 1:18, 1 Timothy 4:14, Revelation 21: 2-3)
